SELFFormative Language Assessment System

To access SELF, your training coordinator will provide you with access via a link and a session code. For any additional questions, contact the coordinator at your institution.

The test lasts on average about 1 hour.

SELF assesses 3 skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and short written expression.

At the end of the test, SELF immediately displays an overall target level or one in progress: "En route vers...". This corresponds to the level group SELF suggests for the learner to enroll in, which is the level immediately above the level already achieved.

SELF also provides the achieved level by skills, including a score for listening comprehension, a score for reading comprehension, and a score for short written expression.

In case of a crash, SELF automatically saves your progress. If you experience technical issues for any reason, simply reload the page or log out and log back in with your identifier. You will resume the test where you left off.
